At People’s Bank, we understand that security is very important to our Online Banking customers. Although we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of data transmitted over the public Internet, we encrypt all data transmissions between your computer and our data center using the strongest available industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols.
Encryption
People’s Bank’s Online Banking supports the data encryption process – which scrambles your data into a form that only your browser and People’s Bank host server can understand – is an effective way to achieve data security. Encryption significantly reduces the possibility of unauthorized users intercepting and reading your account or transaction information. To compare your PC’s browser and level of
encryption against minimum system requirements, see
Browser Requirements to determine which
browsers Online Banking supports.
Secure Access
To log into Online Banking, you must key in an Access ID and a Password. Online Banking allows three attempts to enter your Access ID and Password correctly on the login page. After three unsuccessful login attempts, the system locks the user out, requiring a phone call to the bank to reset the password before re-entry into the system.
Password Security
How you can protect your account:
- Memorize your Access ID and password. Never write it down
or give it to anyone. If you think that someone else may have
access to your password, contact us immediately.
- Change your password frequently
- Use a password that is unique, doesn't contain personal
information and is not similar to your Access ID. It must
utilize both upper and lower alpha and numeric characters and
be eight to twelve characters long.
- When you are finished banking online, click the log-off
button instead of just closing the browser window
- Be aware, particularly when using public computers, that
programs exist which record keystroke information and could
compromise your online security
- Make sure no one is watching you enter log-in or password
information on the computer
- People’s Bank will never solicit account or password
information from you via e-mail. If you should receive such a
message please: contact us (541) 776-5350.
Automatic Logout
As a safety precaution, after twenty minutes of inactivity we will
terminate your secured banking session for you. If your session
is terminated before you have completed your banking, simply
return to the Log In page to resume
banking.

security of our Internet site, please contact us at (541)
