Online Banking
Q. What is Online Banking?
A. Our Online Banking service allows you to conveniently access and manage select People’s Bank accounts through
a personal computer. We have created this Online Banking service for individuals interested in personal financial management.
This unique service leverages the power of the Internet to manage your finances more efficiently.
Q. What equipment and software do I need to access the Online Banking service?
A. You will need a connection to the Internet supplied by an Internet Service Provider (ISP), a modem (the faster the better,
but at least 28,800 baud is recommended), and browser software which supports 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. In
all cases it is important that you be on the most recent release of whatever browsing software you choose to use.
Q. Is the Internet safe and secure for Online Banking?
A. At People’s Bank, we understand that security is very important to our Online Banking customers. Although we cannot guarantee
absolute confidentiality of data transmitted over the public Internet, we encrypt all data transmissions between your computer and
our data center using the strongest available industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols. You can confirm your Online
Banking session is encrypted by the appearance of a “padlock” symbol at the bottom right of your browser screen.
Q. Can anyone else see my account information? Is it out in the public?
A. No, the data encryption process mentioned above is an effective way to achieve data security. Encryption significantly reduces
the possibility of unauthorized users intercepting and reading your account or transaction. You can help safeguard your information by
protecting your Access ID and Password. A proper combination of your Access ID and Password is the only way to get access into your
account(s). Please be careful to keep this information secure, and LOG OFF of Online Banking when you are done.
Q. What can I do with Online Banking?
A. In addition to FREE unlimited access via the Internet, this system will enable you to:
- Access your balances and transaction information directly from your PC with the click of a mouse
- Search and sort specific transactions, with up to 30 days of transaction history available for many accounts
- View a running balance for checking and savings accounts
- View pending items such as ATM and Check Card transactions before they process to your account history
- Initiate real-time transfers between select People’s Bank accounts – even schedule recurring transfers
- Transfer funds online to pay select People’s Bank accounts including installment loans, home equity loans, and auto loans

Q. What accounts can I access with Online Banking?
A. You can access your People’s Bank checking and savings, installment loans, auto loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, certificates of deposit (CDs), and overdraft protection.
Q. How can I make finding accounts I need to access easier?
A. By using the Nickname Accounts feature, you will be able to create a memorable name for all of your accounts accessed through Online Banking. You will be able to name accounts according to their intended purpose like tuition expenses, vacation funds or children's savings account.
Q. How current is the information displayed online?
A. All balance information for deposit accounts is displayed in "real-time" and will change throughout the day based on your activity. Please note the following important details:
- Transfers made to People’s Bank loans will be updated immediately.
- Same-day transfers between deposit accounts (e.g. checking and savings) are effective immediately. A same-day transfer will appear in pending transactions when you commit to the transfer.
- Transfers scheduled for a weekend or holiday will be processed on the first business day following the weekend or holiday.
The balances shown for accounts that have pending items are updated immediately for a variety of transactions, including ATM and Check Card, but the individual transactions do not appear in account activity until processing is completed (which is normally that night, but can take a couple of days in the case of Check Card transactions)
